Let's take a look at the world's first commercially available multibeam echosounder - the Reson SeaBat 9001 from Denmark

Nowadays, in the surveying market, even for a simple measurement of a sewage ditch, the client may require the use of a multibeam echosounder to achieve full coverage measurement. The history of multibeam sonar is actually not long. I have collected some information about the development history of multibeam echosounders and found that the world's first civilian multibeam system is an '80s baby, born in the Nordic country of Denmark, model SeaBat 9001.

Review and Commentary | Li Shuo: Progress and Development Suggestions for China's Deep-Sea Robot Research

Underwater robots are important technological equipment for human exploration, understanding, and development of the ocean. Their R&D capabilities to a certain extent represent a nation's technological level in deep-sea resource surveys and marine scientific research. This article briefly introduces the current status of deep-sea robot development abroad, focusing on the research progress of China's 4500-meter, 6000-meter, and 11000-meter (full-ocean-depth) underwater robots. It also elaborates on the important role of China's deep-sea robots in deep-sea mineral resource exploration and deep-sea scientific research, and the full-ocean-depth exploration and operation technology equipment system they have built. Based on an analysis of the challenges facing China's deep-sea robots, suggestions for future development are proposed.
